This course is designed for the first semester MCJ.
COJ-CC-533:Film Studies
The course covers the evolution of film, genres and major movements. Reading cinema as an art and the language of films is another important area of concentration, followed by theoretical approach. The beginning of Indian cinema and special emphasis on Malayalam film makers and the film society movements is also discussed.
TECHNICAL WRITING & DOCUMENTATION
Technical Writing and Documentation is designed for the third-semester MCJ course with four credits. The course aims at understanding and practising technical documentation and information design.

The course helps to develop an understanding of Newspaper editing and production. The students will be able to apply the skills of page make-up and design through the lab journal production.

This paper pursues the framework of syllabus in implemented for Masters in Communication and Journalism (MCJ) in Department of Communication&Journalism. This paper introduces student to critical legal thinking and reasoning about legal system and ethical practices of media in India context.

NEWS REPORTING
To introduce students to basics of reporting and writing for various media platforms and enable them understand news values and qualities of reporters. A course (4Credits) designed for the Masters programme in Communication and Journalism at the Department of Communication &Journalism, University of Kerala.
